1986 U.S. Prestige Proof Set

The United States Mint released two different Proof sets in 1986. One contained the Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter and Kennedy Half Dollar, all struck to a mirrored Proof condition. The other, a special Prestige Proof Set, included two additional coins – the 1986 Statue of Liberty Commemorative Half Dollar and Silver Dollar! This is that latter set, struck to a limited mintage of just 599,317 sets – four times fewer than the mintage of its standard Proof Set counterpart. Both Statue of Liberty Commemoratives have since become collector favorites due to their theme and beauty – and you’ll get BOTH in this set!

Issued by the U.S. Mint from 1983 to 1997, Prestige Proof Sets consist of some of the rarest and most highly sought-after proof coins in the history of the U.S. Mint. These sets boast proof versions of the U.S. circulating coins from the year of issue along with that year’s commemoratives. As they were made specifically for collectors, Prestige Sets are highly valued for their beauty and rarity. Each Prestige Set comes displayed in a beautiful presentation folder from the Mint that opens like a book.

These coins were all struck from hand-selected planchets and polished dies at the San Francisco Mint – the U.S. branch mint known for the quality of its strikes – and feature beautifully frosted details rising over mirror-like fields. Don’t miss your chance to secure one of the most highly prized proof sets in U.S. Mint history. Secure yours now!
